Our online classical guitar program takes you from selecting your instrument and playing your first notes to playing major concert works through our conservatory-style systematic curriculum. We supplement our curriculum with a unique rote kinesthetic learning approach--that can take the intimidation factor out of reading music and learning theory. Our online Flamenco course will help you to master the passion of the Flamenco guitar. We begin by getting you comfortable playing your guitar, familiarizing you with techniques for each hand, and teaching you about the fascinating cultural evolution that formed Flamenco music. Becoming intimately familiar with the joys and sorrows of the people who brought Flamenco music to the world will help you identify with the raw emotion that transforms your growing technical abilities into artistry. This program makes a complex subject--music theory--understandable. A deep understanding of fingerboard harmony is a key component of a guitarist's competence as a musician. We break down the often-boring, difficult subject into easy-to-understand chunks of information which are instantly translatable to your musicianship. LAGA Core covers the fingerboard layout, the notes on the fingerboard, intervals, mapping major and minor scale forms on the fingerboard, the power of triads, along with triad connection drills and progressions. | ||

We designed our pop guitar course to help you learn how to play rock and popular music on your guitar. We can’t assure you that upon completion of this program, you will become the next pop music sensation, but what we can assure you is that your training will give you the confidence to play for an audience of one or millions! Lessons progress by providing small, easily digestible chunks of material, so that you will experience success every time you pick up your guitar. We give you easy practice tips so that your practice will produce more results than you thought possible in such a short amount of time. We teach you beginning chords and progressions, bar chords, picking, fingerboard theory, as well as many more advanced techniques. We teach you not to be intimidated by music theory--we teach it as part of the songs you learn, so you absorb it naturally, without the boredom. That way, if you do become the next singing sensation, you will be able to speak your studio musicians’ language with confidence! | ||
LAGA KIDS |
Our children's guitar lessons allow parents and children (ages 4-11) to share the joy of playing the guitar. Lessons are easy to follow, and are given in a format that is instantly understandable by most children. Your child will build his or her self-esteem by learning something new every lesson. Parents learn basic guitar skills, then teach them to their children. Don't worry--no previous musical experience whatsoever is needed on the part of parent or child. After completing the LAGA Kids lessons, your child will be ready to move on to reading music with LAGA Classical. | ||
LAGA TEACH |
We have an online course that gives you a thorough preparation to teach guitar lessons on your own. You will learn to organize your musical knowledge and skills in such a way that you can teach with confidence, with a personalized and meaningful approach. We support you at each step in your teaching journey by e-mail and live, one-on-one video conferences. We develop your proficiency on the guitar to a higher level, then teach you how to educate others. You will learn sequencing, materials, lesson planning, course planning, assessment strategies, and learning theory. Much of the material in this course you could get only through an expensive university education. LAGA Online provided you with a solid foundation at a fraction of the price! LAGA LIVE |
Our live online guitar lesson course provides live one-on-one instruction with the faculty of Los Angeles Guitar Academy. The program consists of weekly half-hour lessons that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. LAGA Live can be used as a supplementary support program to the programs in which you are currently enrolled, or as a stand-alone program that will help you reach your personal musical goals. LAGA PREP |
This live and online advanced guitar lesson program is an intensive one-on-one instruction conducted by the LAGA faculty. Whether you want to progress faster in your knowledge of the guitar, or whether you would like to study music at the university level, this course is for you! Through completing this program successfully, you will learn the musical skills necessary for entrance into college or conservatory-level music programs. LAGA Prep will familiarize you with the workload that you can expect at a typical conservatory or university music program. We look forward to helping you achieve your goals! | ||
