Free Classical Guitar Lesson 9: Chromatic Drill
Free Online Classical Guitar Lessons from LAGA
One of the more difficult concepts to grasp in music is that the same note may be expressed in notation as both a sharp and a flat. For example, the note just below G can be written either "F-sharp" or "G flat." This study gets you familiar with this idea, as well as giving you practice locating each of the first position notes on the first string. Because this exercise helps you to locate the notes on the fingerboard, this drill is most valuable, even if you can read music well.
The word "chromatic" refers to a succession of notes which are one-half step apart.
