Rhythm has been called "the skeleton of music." Just as a skeleton gives shape to the human body, so rhythm gives shape to music. Now it is time to work on developing a strong sense of rhythm on your instrument.

This drill will familiarize you with playing notes of various durations on your guitar. We cover quarter, half, and whole notes. Follow along with the sheet music. Be sure to count to make sure that you are playing the note for the proper duration. Quarter notes are held for one beat, half notes for two, and whole notes for four.
