Free Flamenco Guitar Lesson 6: Coordinating Your Hands

Now that we have a solid foundation for both hands, it is time to start putting them together so you can start making music. Coordinating your hands while doing two separate actions can take some time, so be patient with yourself while you get familiar with the process.

Make sure that your left-hand fingers stay on the fret for the full duration of the note, minimizing the pauses (rests) between each note. This will help you make smooher transitions.

Practice this exercise every day until you get a a sense of continuiity, ease, and even timing. Play slowly until you feel comfortable enough to speed it up. Make sure to maintain a continuous i-m alternation.

In our next lesson, we will establish the building blocks of rasgueados with a fun exercise.
