Free Flamenco Guitar Lesson 8: Golpe

Golpe is a tap on the body of the guitar with a, p, and sometimes with e during a Flamenco piece. Flamenco guitars come with a "golpeador" (a tapping plate) to minimize the impact of the golpe and to protect the surface of the guitar.

These drills walk you through various uses of golpe, first by itself, then in several combinations with the i stroke that we studied in the previous lesson.

In our next lesson, you will discover one of the oldest and most traditional forms in Flamenco music, the Soleares.
