Why LAGA Live?

You may choose to study in your preferred style.  Our teachers are here to help you in many different styles including classical guitar, flamenco guitar, pop/rock guitar, music theory/fingerboard theory, and even world music.  You may want to focus on one style, or combine different styles in your lesson plan.

Classical Guitar

Flamenco Guitar

Learn to play in your favorite Flamenco style today!  Study various Flamenco forms including Soleares, Seguiriyas, Tangos, Bulerias, and Fandangos. Depending on your technical ability, your level and your background in basic Flamenco concepts, our teachers will create a custom lesson plan to meet your needs and help you reach your musical goals.

Some of our recent students have studied pieces such as Malaguenas, Bulerias, Soleares, Fandangos from many of the greatest Flamenco guitarists of all time such as Sabicas, Paco de Lucia, Ramon Montoya and Paco Pena.

Pop/Rock Guitar

Interested in learning to play your favorite pop and rock songs on guitar?  Tired of looking for the YouTube video lesson for the pieces you would like to learn how to play--then being disappointed at the quality?  You will be surprised how much quickly you will be able to play all of your favorite songs with our online webcam lessons. As an added bonus, a portion of each lesson will be designated to teach you about the basic musical structures that form a piece of music, so you will be simultaneously learning the technique to play any piece by ear--a technique that will last long after you stop taking lessons!

Fingerboard Theory

It is a well-known fact that a good foundation in music theory is crucial for all guitarists. Whether you are a hobbyist or a professional musician,  our teachers will show you the direct link between music theory and practice--actual pieces of repertoire from any given style--including classical, Flamenco, pop, rock, jazz, Latin, and many more. With training in music theory, you will be able to better interpret the pieces you perform by understanding the harmonic, tonal and melodic construction underlying each piece. Music theory will also help you on your arranging, song writing and composition.

World Music

Are you a fan of music from different parts of the world? Are you looking to play the indigeneous music of diverse cultures from all over the world? Looking for new sounds to incorporate in your musical practice and compositions?

Our teachers will walk you through the unique, mysterious, mystical, exotic and ancient universe of world music from different regions around the world, including but not limited to musical cultures and practices of African, American, Balkan, Indian, Indonesian, and Asian regions.

Technical Requirements:

Webcam and microphone. We recommend Logitech QuickCam Pro 9, or a higher model.
